Have You Lost Sight Of What's Important?
Insights on guiding your people from Winnie-The-Pooh and Friends

You're either part of the problem or part of the solution
For many of us (including me), it can often be easier to get caught up in the problems of our business (which is the CAN'T voice talking) versus spending your time and energy on actually solving the problem (which is the YES WE CAN voice).
So I want you to jot down the top 3 problems you're grappling with in your Role, Time, Business, People and Systems; and then notice your immediate thoughts as you see the problem in writing.
Is it negative and frustrating because you're still in the problem space, or are you overwhelmed (in a good way) because the ideas are just flowing and your only choice is to decide which will be the best path moving forward?
As I'm affectionately known as the Bob the Builder for Aussie small businesses (can she fix it, yes she can 😊), my job is to help my coaching clients get to the heart of the problem so we can develop a viable solution.
But when things are close to us, that can be hard to do on our own which is why I bring my problems to my business coach so we can reverse the roles.
So who are you bringing your problems to so they can help you clearly develop the best solution for your small business?
And are you encouraging your staff to just bring you problems, or problems with possible solutions to explore?
I hope you're choosing the latter option which creates a culture of team empowerment, innovation and possibilities.
BTW: To maintain relationships, it's important to discuss business frustrations with like-minded business people which may not be your family or friends.

Tigger
The wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are wonderful things... But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers is I'm the only one.
It's important to remember what's wonderful about you and what's wonderful about each and every one of your team.
And you can lose sight of this when we're so busy in the day-to-day operations of the business and the many challenges this brings.
So how will you reconnect with all the wonderful things you and your team bring to your small business, and how can you enhance them rather than hide them away?

The time has come to speak plainly
Communication is the key to success so what have you or your staff been avoiding to talk about which, if addressed, would actually solve one or more of the problems in your small business?
I know you may think avoiding an awkward conversation is better, but as always, here's my Dr Phil question for you:
How's that working for you?
If you prepare for these conversations with calmness and clarity, they rarely go as bad as what you imagine.
And here's my final thought:

I wonder what's going to happen exciting today.
Some days are great and some need more energy and effort to get through them, but always remember, a positive outlook turns a blustery day into a hunny one.
